The goal of the Rigpa Endowment Fund is to provide the long-term financial security and resources that are necessary for the work of Sogyal Rinpoche and Rigpa to continue to flourish and grow, for the benefit of future generations.
Funding the Future – Sogyal Rinpoche has been teaching in the West for more than thirty years and is universally acknowledged as one of the leading interpreters of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings for the modern world. Tens of thousands of students from all corners of the globe are now part of Rigpa, the Buddhist organization he created as a vehicle for his work.
Rigpa is widely respected throughout the Buddhist community for its authenticity, open-minded spirit and ability to accomplish major works. Many masters believe that Rigpa has a special role to play in the transmission of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings in the West, in particular the traditions of Vajrayana and Dzogchen.
Sogyal Rinpoche's Legacy – For this reason, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many other masters have urged us to make a long-term plan for the future of Rigpa’s work, and to start putting it into action. We have a special responsibility to ensure that Sogyal Rinpoche’s legacy—everything that he and his devoted students have created and built up over more than thirty years—will continue to benefit generations to come, in ever increasing ways.
